Saved by Grace not by Works – Walking in the Gift of Salvation
Faith Walk Blogsπππ©΅©️
Introduction: The Foundation of Salvation
Salvation is the greatest gift given to humanity, purchased not by our own efforts, but by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. The Apostle Paul, in Ephesians 2:8-9, reminds us:
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”
This verse is a cornerstone of the Christian faith, revealing the heart of the Gospel—we are saved by grace, not by works. No human effort can earn eternal life. It is solely through God’s unmerited favor, given to us through Jesus Christ, that we are redeemed.
Yet, throughout history, many have struggled with this truth. Some attempt to earn God’s love through religious rituals or good deeds, while others misunderstand grace as a license to live however they please. Today, we will explore the meaning of salvation by grace, its implications, and how true faith in Jesus naturally produces a transformed life.
1. Understanding Grace: The Free Gift of God
What Is Grace?
Grace is the unmerited, undeserved favor of God. It is His kindness poured out on those who could never earn it. If salvation were based on our works, it would be a wage—not a gift. But Scripture tells us:
“Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt.” – Romans 4:4
This means that if salvation could be earned, God would owe us eternal life. But because it is a free gift, no one can boast about earning it. Jesus paid the full price on the cross, making salvation available to all who believe.
“Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.” – Romans 3:24
Why Can’t Good Works Save Us?
Many believe that if they do enough good, God will accept them. But Isaiah 64:6 tells us:
“All our righteousnesses are like filthy rags.”
No matter how “good” we think we are, our best efforts fall short of God’s perfect holiness. One sin alone is enough to separate us from God, and no amount of good deeds can erase the stain of sin. Only the blood of Jesus can wash us clean.
“Without shedding of blood there is no remission [of sin].” – Hebrews 9:22
Jesus is the only one who lived a perfect, sinless life. He fulfilled the law on our behalf and took our punishment upon Himself. Through His sacrifice, we are declared righteous—not by our works, but by faith in Him.
“But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness.” – Romans 4:5
2. Faith: The Key to Receiving Grace
What Does It Mean to Be Saved “Through Faith”?
Faith is trusting completely in Jesus and His finished work on the cross. It is not just believing that God exists, but personally receiving His grace and surrendering to Him as Lord and Savior.
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved.” – Acts 16:31
Faith means letting go of self-reliance and relying entirely on Jesus. It is an active trust, one that changes the heart and mind.
Faith Versus Works: Why Do Some Get Confused?
Some struggle with the idea of salvation by faith alone because James 2:17 says:
“Faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.”
Does this contradict Paul’s teaching in Ephesians 2:8-9? Not at all. James is not saying we are saved by works; he is saying that true faith naturally produces good works. A living faith will result in a changed life. If someone claims to have faith but their life remains unchanged, their faith is dead—it was never genuine.
Paul and James are in agreement: we are saved by faith alone, but true faith is never alone. It is always accompanied by the fruit of righteousness.
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” – Ephesians 2:10
Good works do not earn salvation, but they are the evidence of salvation.
3. Living in Grace: The Transformed Life
Grace Is Not a License to Sin
Some misinterpret grace, thinking that since salvation is a free gift, they can live however they please. But Paul warns against this in Romans 6:1-2:
“Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?”
Grace changes us. It does not leave us in sin, but empowers us to live righteously through the Holy Spirit.
“For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.” – Romans 6:14
If someone continues to live in unrepentant sin, they have misunderstood grace. True grace teaches us to deny ungodliness and walk in righteousness.
“For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age.” – Titus 2:11-12
The Role of Works in a Believer’s Life
While works do not save us, they are a natural response to God’s grace. When we truly experience salvation, we want to serve Him, love others, and spread the Gospel.
Jesus said:
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” – Matthew 5:16
Good works are an act of gratitude for the salvation we have already received. They bring glory to God and draw others to Christ.
4. Assurance of Salvation: Resting in God’s Promise
Can We Lose Our Salvation?
Many believers struggle with assurance, wondering if they have done enough or if they can lose their salvation. But salvation is not based on our efforts—it is based on God’s promise.
“He who believes in the Son has everlasting life.” – John 3:36
If salvation depended on us, we would have reason to fear. But because it depends on God’s grace, we can rest in His unchanging love.
Jesus said:
“I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.” – John 10:28
If we have truly been born again, we are secure in Christ. Our salvation is sealed by the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13-14) and no one—not even ourselves—can undo what God has done.
This does not mean we will never struggle, but it does mean that God will keep us until the end.
“Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.” – Philippians 1:6
Conclusion: Resting in the Finished Work of Christ
Salvation is a gift of grace, received through faith, and evidenced by a transformed life. We cannot earn it, and we do not deserve it, yet God freely gives it to those who believe in Jesus.
If you have been trying to earn God’s love, let go and trust in the finished work of Christ. And if you have received His grace, walk in the newness of life, bearing the fruit of righteousness for His glory.
Prayer of Confirmation and Sealing
Heavenly Father, Most High God,
We thank You for Your grace, which has saved us through faith in Jesus Christ. We acknowledge that we cannot earn salvation, for it is Your gift, purchased by the precious blood of the Lamb. Lord, help us to live in gratitude, walking in obedience as a reflection of Your love. Let our lives be a testimony of Your mercy and truth.
We seal and confirm this prayer in the most sacred blood of Jesus Christ, and in agreement with Abba Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Amen, Amen, Amen.
Saved by Grace, Not by Works – Walking in the Gift of Salvation
A Holy Spirit Poem: The Gift of Grace
I stood before the throne of light,
A sinner lost, not dressed in white.
My works like dust, they could not save,
But Jesus’ love—so freely gave.
No price to pay, no deed to claim,
Just mercy pouring like the rain.
He bore my shame upon that tree,
His blood was shed to set me free.
Not by my hands, nor by my might,
But by His grace, I found new life.
A gift so pure, no man could earn,
Yet in His love, my heart did turn.
Now clothed in Christ, my faith made whole,
His Spirit breathes within my soul.
Not bound by works, but walking true,
For grace has made my heart brand new.
Forever sealed, my Savior reigns,
His blood has washed away my stains.
So here I stand, redeemed and free,
Saved by grace—eternally.
Now clothed in Christ, my faith made whole,
His Spirit breathes within my soul.
Not bound by works, but walking true,
For grace has made my heart brand new.
Forever sealed, my Savior reigns,
His blood has washed away my stains.
So here I stand, redeemed and free,
Saved by grace—eternally.

The Saviour's Prayer and Accepting Jesus as Your King and Savior
"Lord Jesus,
I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness.
I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead.
I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life.
I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior.
In Your Mighty Name Jesus,
Amen, Amen, Amen."
Psalm 118:24
This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
A Prayer of Rejuvenation and Abundance in God’s Grace, God's Love and God's Diving Timing. May I suggest you read this daily. You can do it! God loves you.
My Dearest Lord Jesus, Abba Father:
How wonderful it is that the rejuvenating power of the Holy Spirit lives within me.
I am saved by Your Amazing Grace, and protected by your Sacred Blood Jesus, and I thank You for your "Amazing Grace!"
Thank You for Your sacred blood that has saved so many worldwide.
Most precious Blood of Jesus Christ, save us and the whole world.
The Holy Love of God flows through me, and I am so grateful to attract it constantly as real love surrounds me and envelopes my soul because of you Abba Father. Thank you for your Love.
I walk with Jesus in the shoes of peace You have blessed me with, my Lord.
Thank You for Your Amazing Grace Lord Jesus.
Through Your Amazing Grace, I flow as a golden river of abundance, showered constantly with exquisite miracles of all people, places and things majestic and beautiful as your divine will calls into existence Jesus.
All miracles, big and small, are gifts from above, and I love and accept them all, Jesus. I am so grateful for another day to honor you Abba Father and I consider every second blessed because you give me my healthy breath.
It is written in James 1:17
"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of Lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning."
Such Amazing Grace You have bestowed upon my whole family and friends, and we are enjoying generations of blessings going forward because of Your Amazing Grace.
We honor You, my Heavenly Father. May we all live to glorify Your Holy Name.
I see, feel, and hear every opportunity and blessing You present to me and I accept all OPEN DOORS, you my Lord, present to me to honor your "Holy Name".
I am so thankful, my Heavenly Father, for "Your Amazing Grace" that transforms my body, heart, soul, and spirit into divine alignment and perfect health in all areas of my life.
Jesus, I ask that every divine lesson You have given to me be embraced with all the "Fruits of the Spirit", Love, Joy, Peace, Patience in God's timing and healing, Kindness to myself and others, Goodness, with authenticity and integrity, Faithfulness in God's Love above all else, gentleness as I walk in humility, Self-Control I will be mature and resist temptation. I will respond if guided by God but never react. I will remember "SILENCE is a SUPERPOWER" but I must always be aware of my body language because it will always speak volumes and take away my silence!
Let Your divine lessons run smoothly and let me know that "what's theirs is theirs and what's mine is mine". No one escapes the law of reaping and sowing! No-one can complete these life lessons that us, Adonai you have planned for any of us..You are the CEO of my life. Please guide me each day as I live for you.
Your Word says in Isaiah 53:5,
“By His stripes, we are healed.”
You will stand firm on this promise, but everything is in Your divine timing.
Amen Amen Amen.
The 10 Commandments Reminder
Here are the Ten Commandments, as listed in the Bible (specifically from the Book of Exodus 20:1-17, and also found in Deuteronomy 5:4-21):
You shall have no other gods before Me.
You shall not make for yourselves a carved image or any likeness of anything that is in the heaven above or on the earth below. Remember money and stuff is only stuff, not God. When you leave this earthly life it gets left behind.
You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.
Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Honor your father and mother. Don't take on their divine lessons God presents them with. They may have been a pain in the butt sometimes but remember it works both ways! They are part of our "Faith Walk" and we are part of theirs. We can't save them, only God can, however healthy boundaries are self loving. Sometimes we have to love them from a distance and accept their apology they never gave us. If you need a prayer to help you forgive and follow this commandment. I can help you with that so please reach out. faithwalkministries777@outlook.com
You shall not murder. This includes lies and slander where you destroy someone's reputation.
You shall not commit adultery. This includes looking at another that you aren't married to in any inappropriate way.
You shall not steal. If you steal anything, no matter how small, you are giving out the vibration to Abba Father of lack and that's what you will get more of!
You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
You shall not covet your neighbor’s house, wife, or possessions.
Authors Note: All of my blogs are based on personal situations. Of course I read my Bible daily so of course divine wisdom is taken from the holy book but living the 10 commandments and the fruits of the spirit with God in charge is my way of life now.
I only got off the fence and went all in with Jesus about a year ago at age 65. Better late than never I always say.
Been there, done that, Jesus burned the t-shirt.
Be blessed my friend.
Thank you for reading. πππ©π
